Until recently the only way to get a return on our investment in the core shop was to switch from Shell to Isocure. Even that was minimal, considering the additional costs for tooling, disposal, green sand contamination, and environmental issues. Which is why many foundries have neglected their core shop for so long. Although Harrison has been on the scene since the 1950's with the introduction of the Dual Station Core Machines most comparisons and purchase justifications did not take into account the inherent productivity advantages of a Dual Station Core Machine. So for decades most thought adding or replacing a core machine simply meant an increase in core making cost. This was true, except when a Harrison Core Machine came into the picture for consideration. Harrison Core Machines break the idea that more of the same type of equipment means more of the same results. |
